In 2019, master of light Alberto Meda and President of Foscarini Carlo Urbinati met at the Mantua Literature Festival. This marked the beginning of an intellectual collaboration, which resulted in Chiaroscura, developed alongside his son Francesco
Born in Tremezzina (Como) in 1945, he graduated in Mechanical Engineering from the Polytechnic of Milan in 1969. From 1973 technical manager of Kartell, in charge of furniture projects development and plastic laboratory equipments. Alberto Meda teached industrial technology at Domus Academy, he professor at the Graduate Course of Industrial Design at Milan Polytechnic and at the IUAV in Venice with a planning workshop in the masters course in industrial design. He holds numerous conferences and seminars in Europe, Japan and the United States including at Washington University School of Architecture. Also in Stockholm with the workshop “And now …”, in Boisbuchet, Miami, San Paulo, in Ulm, Istanbul, Toronto, Mexico. Since 1979 freelance industrial designer for various important companies, like Alfa Romeo Auto, Alessi, Brevetti Gaggia, Philips, Olivetti and others.
