Foscarini is founded on the island of Murano (Venice)

The company creates customized lighting systems dedicated to the contract sector.

1983

The first catalogue collection of design lamps is born

The company opens to new markets and distribution channels.

1985

First collaboration with external designers

Adam Tihany and Joseph Mancini design the Wassily off the Wall collection.

1988

New corporate structure

Carlo Urbinati and Alessandro Vecchiato, who enter the firm as designers, become its new owners.

1989

New logo

Designed by Rodolfo Dordoni.

1990

Lumiere by Rodolfo Dordoni

E' il primo grande successo Foscarini.

1992

Orbital by Ferruccio Laviani

It is the first lamp produced by Foscarini in industrial glass.

1993

Havana by Jozeph Forakis

For the first time a material other than glass is used: polyethylene.

1994

New materials: the company leaves Murano

Foscarini definitively leaves the island of Murano, moving the executive offices to Marcon where the logistics already existed.

1995

Sculptural models with eight arms built out of thin metal rods.

1996

The road to quality

The company is one of the first in its sector to qualify for UNI EN ISO 9001 certification.

LUX magazine was born

The magazine is Foscarini’s first publishing experience, realised from 2002 to 2008.

2003

New company headquarters

The twentieth year of activity is celebrated with the inauguration of the new headquarters in Marcon.

2005

FuoriSalone at Superstudio Più in Milan.

Foscarini shows its lamps at Superstudio spaces in Zona Tortona for the first time.

Euroluce 2005

Ferruccio Laviani designs a stand characterized chromatically by the colors red and black, with the latter, in the dark, highlighting the products, making them stand out as protagonists.
