Instant Visions
By: Massimo Gardone
Tracing back through the old gestures of photography, I also find myself inside this very handmade project.
The spaces of Foscarini become a photography set; an 8×10 optical bench and Polaroid 8×10’’B&W instant film document the conclusion of a production cycle. The still life of the lamp, turned off, like a sculpture, reveals the material, documenting its refined workmanship. It is a game on equal footing, where the handwork of the photographer, who uses the optical bench, is mirrored by the skill of the worker.
