An editorial initiative created and managed by Beppe Finessi, edited by Corraini, promoted and supported by Foscarini.
Research on the book object has been selected as a starting point – not the book as a physical product, however, but as a world of things and actions whose designs have been inspired by the book, and are related to it.
A collection of objects that mark the advancement of reading, tools to help readers, structures that hold and sort rows of books, lamps and other decorative objects that have been made for and with books, and, how fundamental constructive and structural elements are found even within books themselves. Inside we find the columns that carry out the task of organising the flow of objects, thoughts and words in-between the turning of pages. In this edition, Elio Grazioli speaks of Claudio Parmiggiani’s “Delocazione” which converts a room into a type of three-dimensional sensitive plate, upon which the shape of objects stand out. Meanwhile, in the Manuale dell’Architetto, Mariana Siracusa tells us how artists and designers have managed and reinterpreted a rational space: the corner, which in itself is not very welcoming. Francesco Garutti tells us about Blinky Palermo, who redefined the language of painting. Among the New Masters, we find Martí Guixé, Catalan food designer, true innovator of food design who, in this interview with Paolo Bocchi, illustrates his personal and professional journey. Then, there is the work of Umberto Riva in an article by Michele Calzavara, paper knives explained by Giulio Iacchetti, sofas and chairs by Nina Saunders, travel paintings by Vittoria Chierici and the new talents of Futuro Prossimo (Stéphanie Baechler, Denise Bonapace, James Teng). And much more. The Serbian photographer Sanja Pupovac adds a new piece to the gallery of author portraits dedicated to the interpretation of Foscarini lamps that, from the opening and closing pages of Inventario, have also become the protagonists of an exhibition at the Arsenale bookshop on the occasion of the 2013 Venice Art Biennale.
