An editorial initiative created and managed by Beppe Finessi, edited by Corraini, promoted and supported by Foscarini.
Reaching the tenth issue is an important milestone for the bookzine, after being awarded with the Compasso d’Oro as an independent space for ideas, stimuli and curiosities.
“When we set off on this new adventure”, says Carlo Urbinati, Foscarini’s President, “we certainly could never have imagined that the project’s dynamism would take us this far. INVENTARIO is continuing to grow and establish its individual identity, exploring, analysing, studying in depth and searching out design ranges on the most unexpected themes”. Part book part magazine, INVENTARIO brings in original critical contributions to explore the multifaceted world of creativity from the starting point of straightforward, everyday objects suffused with a universe of meanings such as footballs – centre stage on the cover of issue number 10 – or umbrellas – which Michela Dossi examined in all their many nuances while Giulio Iacchetti focused his graphic and critical considerations on an umbrella stand and Nicola Locatelli revealed it as one of the passion-obsessions of Erik Satie. “In these first ten issues, our aim has been to build a new way of collecting and organising everything that the most interesting exponents from all around the world have been able to imagine in a range of disciplinary contexts”, commented Beppe Finessi, “from art director Artemio Croatto’s formal levity and graphic invention and that of his Designwork team to the best art criticism from a range of authors”. As always Foscarini is present exclusively at the beginning and end of each issue with photographs of one or two models from its collection from a different internationally famous photographer each issue. This has created a gallery of art photos by Massimo Gardone, Max Rommel, Moreno Gentili, Lena Amuat, Emmanuel Mathez, Gionata Xerra, Sanja Pupovac, Claudio Gobbi and Jonathan Frantini, issue by issue, and this time, Federico Ferrari is adding his name to the list.
