Markus and Sandra in Mönchengladbach
– NIEDERRHEIN
Coffee, cups, chairs
Objects are our passion: everything, even what used to be called a knick-knack, which is simply a beautiful thing that brings you happiness.

HE SAFETY OF OBJECTS
For us, it is a pleasure but also a job: I, Markus, am an interior architect; Sandra works on communication for a historic German producer of porcelain. But objects are our passion: everything, even what used to be called a knick-knack, which is simply a beautiful thing that brings you happiness. So we opened our own design gallery when we lived in Cologne; now it is closed, but we still sell things online. We have a small garage storeroom where we keep the pieces. We use lots of them, a great many, at home: chairs, for example, we have more than 20, design pieces but also things found at flea markets. There is no favourite corner of our home: we live the whole house, every cranny, just as we change the position of all the chairs, using them all. There is one ritual that is always the same: morning coffee, real espresso, made with a moka pot. In a small white china cup that seems like very fine folded paper. The first bright moment of the day.
